The Warming Northeast: A cry for authenticity

long island, ny l springfield, ma The past week we’ve been up and down the east coast pouring fuel on these cities and loving on these beautiful people God has connected us with on this journey. Its been nothing short of divine. Cold and snowy has been the forecast (Boston was 13 degrees with 2 feet of snow) but the hearts of the people are warming up while the hardened layers of culture and ice are cracking off. Its just the PRESENCE. Thats our only strategy. It is what happens when you give God space and room to invade. We experienced it in Long Island with Teresa’s crew in the strip mall building next to the train station. They have created an oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle and the independence…where people can just walk in with the stress, pressure, and load of the world on their back and exchange it for the lightness of Jesus and His presence. What a deal that is. People came streaming from all over New England (in case you dont know what that is officially - Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont) to Springfield, MA for the Burn Preview last week. Undoubtedly the most liberal place in all of America. They form the patterns of politics, finance, science, fashion, and culture in the nation. They set the standard for being the first states to recognize gay marriage and you’ll find the gorgeous churches that were once Revival Epicenters on the campus of Harvard are now plastered with rainbow stickers and gay pride propaganda all over them. But man… WHAT HUNGER FOR TRUTH IN THE MIDST OF THIS!! People have been saying so much lately of how “Heaven responds to Hunger“…and I haven’t seen many people hungrier than in the “warming” Northeast (not the “cold” Northeast anymore!). Lovers came streaming in from all over New England and even as far away as Canada for the flames!! I am amazed at the remnant movement of burning ones coming out of hiding for community, revelation, and an outpouring like they’ve only dreamed. There is a cry for authenticity everywhere. These people say what they mean and mean what they say (if you’ve spent any time up there…you know what I mean!!). I think God likes that rawness and directness. I agree with the prophets that say that the entire nation is waiting for the Northeast to get over herself and get on her face before the Father in humility, brokenness, and purity of true worship and everyone else will follow suit. If we wanna see America and the world overtaken with this mandate and this move…t he Northeast HAS TO PAVE THE WAY!! The world looks to this region of America for answers, purpose, and life. A city on a hill is the prophetic destiny…where the giant massive blazing hot flame is rising so high that it catches the attention of the world as they gather by its warmth. Let the flames rise on Long Island and in Massechusetts Lord! Let them spread to every home, street, business, church, and city in that region!!!

Northeast: There’s more to life and the kingdom than the Yankees and the Red Sox. Get over yourself. Jesus is coming your way. He’s searching to and fro throughout the earth seeking hearts that are truly His and a bride that is passionately and radically in love. You have His Attention.
