up to the mountain.
06.20.08 l 2.38am l Mount Carmel, Israel
We’ve come to the mountain of the Lord!
Its the original place of burning and fire. Its a place of devotion, zeal, faith and victory. In a time of corruption, wickedness, and godlessness during the rule of Ahab and Jezebel thousands of years ago, Elijah summoned the 450 prophets of Baal to a contest of fire as the entire nation of Israel looked on. Elijah’s deep devotion to the Father led Him to the revelation that God is not in the slightest bit scared by the spirit of Jezebel (even though Elijah he was!). His zeal rose up to contend and prove that God ALONE is faithful to His people and will not be put to shame. His faith led him to stand alone and against the powers of his day to call down the fire of God to consume the sacrifice on the altar. His victory released him to destroy the prophets of Baal while the nation saw “the God who answers by fire” (1 Kings 18:24) reveal Himself to an entire generation.
We are once again in time of absolute corruption and wickedness with a spirit of Jezebel reigning in our midst. Not only is Israel in shambles with wickedness, corruption, and unrighteousness supreme in the land…but the entire planet is in crisis! Nations are raging and the earth is groaning through floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, fires and storms (watch the news!). We and we have come to the mountain for an entire generation to once again witness that HE alone is Faithful as the God who answers by Fire! First that the scales would fall off the eyes of the Jews in the land and the nations of the world would follow suit (Rom 1:16).
So it makes sense that we would culminate our two week journey of rending the Heaven’s over the nation of Israel with 40 intense hours of BURNING on this sacred place. Everything has been lined up in preparation on the trip for this very moment. We are suspending in time and literally “caught up” with Him. Night and day merge together and we are overwhelmed and saturated in His goodness, joy, hope, zeal, and salvation. We have taken in so much over the last few weeks that it would take hours to explain and expound on all the prophecies, dreams, visions, impressions, and unctions from the Sprit. Its been one wild flow led entirely by the Spirit from start to finish! We’ve spent time burning in worship and prayer for Jerusalem’s sake and restoration of the Jews…we’ve ventured into the some of the darkest places on earth (the palestinian refugee camps ) where terrorists are created and asked God to ignite a blaze among the Arabs that cannot be quenched…we’ve grabbed the mantles of Abraham, Joshua, Elijah, John the Baptist, and many others…and we’ve walked, talked, dreamed, and spent our most time with Yeshua.
While taking all that in is incredibly overwhelming for this crew (they are all completely wrecked, smashed and broken for life..Never to be the same again!!)…we are using those images, prayers, tears, and groanings as fuel for the fire this weekend!! Together with Jews, Arabs, Russians, Americans, Africans, and many other tribes…a sweet smelling incense is rising from this mountain. Songs, prophecies, declarations, and prayers are being released all tongues…its beautiful!! Its the kingdom and the nations!! The prophecy is now being fulfilled that God would draw the nations back to Israel (Ez 36:24) and here we are!! We are in a defining moment in history where this thing is playing out before our very eyes!!
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! WAKE UP NATIONS!! WAKE UP ISRAEL!!! WAKE UP AMERICA!!! THE HOUR IS HERE….THE KINGDOM IS AT HAND…FRESH FIRE IS RAINING DOWN FROM HEAVEN!!! DONT MISS YOUR APPOINTED HOUR!
Onwards we shall BURN!! We still have more than 20 hours left and things are just picking up!! Last night we physically saw a cloud the size of a mans hand rise from the sea (1 Kings 18:44)!! It grew larger and and larger and covered the entire top of the mountain….YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!!
RAIN IT DOWN OH LORD!!!
fire on you..

Welcome to the BURN 24-7 June Newsletter!!
As the heat intensifies across the northern hemisphere during this summer season so do the heat and rays of His Presence and Glory. We are experiencing the spirit of BURNING being released across the nations in such a fresh and tangible way. I just returned last week from a journey around the world through Nepal, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Israel and my heart is full of countless stories of every tribe and tongue being renewed by this wave of worship spanning the globe. BURN 24-7 furnaces of night and day worship and prayer have been launched in the past weeks from Santa Cruz, CA to Gastonia, NC to Nepal to Mexico and beyond! The level of hunger for more of Him is increasing with each day and expectations are rising! Here on the very birthday of King David (the architect of 24-7 worship and prayer) and the anniversary of the Holy Spirit falling on the 120 in the upper room, I am on a plane full of 17 ravenous worshippers, psalmists, intercessors, and musicians from across the globe longing to release fresh songs of deliverance, hope, love, and fire on the Holy Land. We will be contending, releasing, and burning all over Israel for the next two weeks during the celebration of 60 years of statehood where a nation was literally “born in a day.” Our commissioning verse is Isaiah 62:1:
“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch”
Take a minute and peak into how God is moving across the world with BURN 24-7. Let the testimonies, videos, teachings, and reports encourage and edify you as you passionately pursue Him. Find a nearby BURN city, mission trip, conference, or upcoming school where you can plug in and be released to BURN bright with us!! Sow a need into what God is doing and fuel furnaces of night and day prayer all over the world - we are going to change history together and can’t do it without you!
Bless you as you enjoy the heat of His Presence this summer!

blog of the month…“He wants this more than we do.” -by Paul Anleitner (Burn Twin Cities) Its true. It is one of the great themes of scripture- God desiring to be with a people that don’t desire Him nearly as much. Just read the Prophets. A Dad wanting to be with His kids, a wild lover desiring the committed affection of His beloved (whichever paradigm you can dial into easier), He wants US! We must keep this ever present in our minds that this “thing” that we are all apart of is not an end unto itself. King David’s desire wasn’t to create a new religious ritual when he built his tabernacle. In an almost “childlike” way, like when a poor kid finally makes it big as professional athlete and then wants to build a big old house for his parents, David saw himself living in a palace and wanted to build a place for his Father to live. Israel already had a good “prayer and worship model” set up by Moses; they didn’t need a “new model”. They needed the simple heart of David. They needed to desire the Lord with all their hearts, soul, mind, and strength. teaching of the month“Urgency and Legacy” -by Andy Byrd (YWAM) So I began to ask myself what the Lord might be saying to our little team here at the University of the Nations in Kona, HI as we wrestle with the visions and dreams God has given us to see a wave of missionaries sent into every dark corner and across every closed border, burning with an unquenchable zeal for the presence of God and redemption of humanity. As this question left my mind I waited with the confidence that I speak to a prayer hearing God who loves to respond with affectionate wisdom and life giving insight. |

Burn Mexico Update:
Burn Mexico Launch 2008
In the midst of the heat, in the dirty slums of a border town, in the place of quenched ambition, the very dream of God began to arise. God lovingly called his people to intimacy and for them to turn over the place on the thrones of their hearts! Jesus took His place as King over a broken city! Death no longer grips this city! The fragrance of life began to fill the air as the praise began to arise over the cinder block shacks, junk yards, and half finished buildings.

Burn Nepal Update
The time has come for us to tear down the former structures of ministry and impartation. The zealous heart is being met by our zealous savior whose adjectives of adoration are beyond words. We have recently returned to the U.S. from a land enthroned by severe demonic entrapment.
Nepal is a nation painted with the colors of hinduism, poverty, and violence. The people are conscious of the plague that saturates their land, but ignorant to the nucleus of their disease. You can feel the spiritual bacteria of the air, yet they continue to worship the demons of their fathers, while the Nepali systematic outcry seems to stem from an ambiguous source.

Urgency and Legacy

As I write this two of my team members and their wives are on the verge of becoming parents. One is in labor as I type; the other has the weekend to go into natural labor before the doctors induce on Monday. Everyone was positive these babies would be born weeks ago due to one couple being pregnant with twins, which typically come early, and the other has been showing signs of labor for as long as three weeks now. I have found for my own children as well as many others I know that these seasons of conception, pregnancy, and delivery in the physical often coincide with conception, carrying, and releasing of future vision and seasons in the spiritual.
So I began to ask myself what the Lord might be saying to our little team here at the University of the Nations in Kona, HI as we wrestle with the visions and dreams God has given us to see a wave of missionaries sent into every dark corner and across every closed border, burning with an unquenchable zeal for the presence of God and redemption of humanity. As this question left my mind I waited with the confidence that I speak to a prayer hearing God who loves to respond with affectionate wisdom and life giving insight.
“You must carry the dreams and visions that I am giving you from MY heart full term.” I continued to listen and he continued to speak. “In this year of new beginnings many are excited about what is being released on the earth, but conception is only the beginning. Development, health, and wholeness require my dreams and vision to be carried full term. Don’t rush my times and seasons. Healthy delivery requires a predetermined gestational period.”
For many, this year started off with an explosion of favor and moves of the Holy Spirit that quickly confirmed the numerous words from trusted voices that 2008 was to be a year of new beginnings. And few things in life can compare with the joy of new beginnings. Few things except the joy of timely, healthy delivery and the new life that especially if carried “full term” has the highest potential for long life. You see beginnings are wonderful but we must not mistake them for endings, maturity, or fullness. They are just what we call them… beginnings.
The answer given to me by the Lord challenges my microwave culture mentality which wants to associate beginnings with fulfillments without realizing that there is a wonderful, sometimes difficult, and certainly patience requiring season that is still ahead to really see the moves of God carry over from beginnings to history changing transformational movements that impact generations to come. The challenge for most of us is not the conception of a vision or dream from God but the carrying, birthing, raising, and releasing of a true God dream. I would call this process of thinking a legacy mindset.
You see, historically, and even denominationally, most of the body of Christ has been strong in one of two areas, urgency or legacy. More Charismatic movements that carry a strong emphasis on evangelism and even the end times tend to also carry a very valid piece of the heart of God called urgency. Without urgency the church would have slipped into unshakable apathy centuries ago. It was a sense of urgency that led the early disciples to quickly take the gospel as far as their lifetimes would allow. It was urgency that led the St. Patrick to Ireland as a missionary to Celts believing God wanted to ransom the heart of a nation. It was urgency that led William Carey to lay down his life for the people of India to see a people trapped in darkness see a great Light. Urgency is a excellent motivator and a very real expression of God’s heart that acts as an injection of faith, boldness, and zeal to the body of Christ.
Other streams of the body of Christ have had a strong understanding of God’s heart for legacy. This is the heart to see a release of blessing in future generations and the willingness to not see the fulfillment in our own lifetimes of the visions we carry. Those with a legacy mindset have tended to devote more time to education, building up the family, and financial stability.
Both are valid, but both are lacking without the other. Sometimes an overemphasis of urgency can lead to losing sight of also living with the long term in mind and actually short circuit the very effort produced by urgency and threaten the longevity of that what God is pouring out. On the other hand many with a legacy driven perspective can easily slip into apathy in the moment and lose the daily zeal that keeps life hot and on the side of risk. A misunderstanding of the need for daily urgency can often times allow a legacy heavy perspective to also short circuit the vision to see something sustained and passed on because it grows cold from lack of daily passion. So, in actuality, for urgency to actually bear fruit it must be lived out in the context of legacy and for a legacy to actually be passed on, urgency will be required. They are mutually inclusive and equally necessary. The coming move of God will be marked by a people that are walking in the fullness of urgency and legacy. Daily urgency for a long-term legacy! The marriage of urgency and legacy will be lived out in daily zeal leading to a life of impact that will keep impacting well beyond our own dreams and visions being carried out. This is what it means to both conceive a vision and carry it until its birth and then actually begin to raise it into maturity.
New beginnings are marked by a sense of urgency! And praise God for the urgency that is being lived out by many in the body of Christ in these days. However, I believe the question more lies on the side of our perspective of legacy. Are we willing to carry this urgency for the long haul, “full term”, until we see the fullness of what God is releasing and maturity of the visions and dreams that are currently being birthed? Are we willing to spend ourselves for something we may never see the full release of in our lifetimes? Are we building something that will still be weathering the storms of life after a hundred years, a thousand criticisms, and a handful of set backs. Are we building a Kingdom that will actually carry into eternity? Even a last days generation must think with a legacy mindset. Legacy goes far beyond just storing something up for future generations it is a kingdom way of living and thinking. It is the life that will carry the Kingdom between mustard seed and mustard tree and a little yeast in the dough to yeast permeating the dough (Mt. 13:31-33). It is an eternal perspective that sees the big picture and both the daily passion and the perseverance and selfless determination that will be required to see any true and lasting move birthed on the earth.
Are we ready to go the distance? Are we ready for the long, boring, and possibly hard periods of time that may come? Will we carry the fire breathed dreams that lie before to their “full term”? Last year I walked through a community in NE Washington that truly understands the importance of urgency and legacy. The community is after a culture of zeal for the presence of God all the while allowing their zeal for the heart of God to be released on the earth to be translated into decisions that are always made in light of the next three generations. As I walked through the homes I asked one man about his huge, timber framed house that resembled what I would have imagined Noah’s ark to look like. He informed me that he had built every part of the house with materials and construction that would allow his home to still be standing in 300 years. My laugh met his serious face as I realized he was not joking. At that moment I had an epiphany that I had never thought in a 300 year term in my life. How will we see successive moves of God that outlast and overpower the previous ones unless we begin to think beyond our five year visions!
Friedrich Nietzsche, famous for coining the phrase, “god is dead”, did have one good thing to say when he talked about the essential thing to a life worth living is a “long obedience in one direction”. Let the weightiness of this statement carry us far beyond the dings of our microwave thinking, pleasure addictions, and commitment phobic tendencies. Oh, to see and be and like Daniel who postured himself in the place of the urgency of daily prayer and at the same time in the legacy driven perseverance to do it for sixty years. Oh to be like David, building the blueprint of revival knowing it was for a future generation. Oh to be like Paul who spoke with his zeal saturated heart, “I press on toward to goal to win the prize”.
Therefore, let us rise up as burning ones, fully consumed with daily passion for the beautiful one and yet filled with a determination to carry this passion “full term”. Let us permeate every decision and thought with the fullness of urgency and legacy. Let us spend our lives in a long obedience in one direction. There is a generation emerging that the world has never seen. And the world will only see them long enough for them to change the world if we are a people of urgency and legacy!
YWAM and Burn 24-7 are partnering together to create a one-year training school that will help develop us as leaders who are anointed, passionate, and zealous as well as full of character, integrity, and Christ like leadership qualities. We want to see vessels raised up that can carry the glory that is being poured out and still yet to be poured out. Could it be that there is glory reserved for a generation that will put equal emphasis on urgency and legacy? If your heart longs for this kind of training then check out our website at fireandfragrance.com.

They needed to desire the Lord with all their hearts, soul, mind, and strength.
Here in the West, we have a real hard time with this. We just can’t seem to think beyond the world’s systems of thinking; and I take personal responsibility for that because I have fell victim to it as well. The world’s way of thinking is to see a goal and then copy the process in order to achieve the same goal. The Church in the West has been stuck in this mindset for too long. There are no doubt Pastors around the country getting back from Lakeland, Florida and heading to the tattoo shop to get some sweet ink like Todd Bentley, or setting up their stage in the exact manner, thinking that by copying a pattern that they will get the same result.
The Lord is raising up a “living body”, an organism, and not an organization. Our tendency to default to creating organizations stems from our fear of losing control. “Organizations” are organized, neat, and are designed perfectly for man to receive honor at their success. “Organisms”, on the other hand, are defined as “a living structure capable of growth and reproduction”, and sometimes their growth and reproduction is a little bit out of control!
1 Peter 2:4-6 says, “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
“Tabernacle of David” worship, “24-7 Prayer”, “harp and bowl, and “revival meetings” cannot be our “end all” motivation in our cities. If we build a movement around these things, we will have successfully built an organization, maybe even a good one, but not a house built of “living stones” upon the “Living Stone”.
Here in the Twin Cities, I’m seeing people dial into the reality that they are the “tabernacle”. About 6 months ago, I got together with several of the 13, 24-7 prayer/worship ministries in our state and asked the question, “Why don’t we all just get together, worship and pray regularly?” They agreed that it was good, and we did it. We do “it” every week at the same place with the entire city invited for 4-6 hours (going twice a week this month). Of the 50-80 “living stones” that come together every week for this, a good percentage of us get together in a living room at a big house with 100 other college students and young adults every Tuesday night and do “it” . Some of those get together on their college campuses and do “it”, or go to the mall or hospitals, or just on the streets and do “it”. Is “it” the Burn? Yes, it is. But it’s also your home, your job, your campus, your marriage, your local church. It’s you- the living tabernacle made up of flesh and bones and designed in the likeness of our Father and being indwelled with His Spirit. It’s wild, it’s out of control, and it reproduces.
It is the body of Christ in action.
It is the Creator inhabiting His creation.
That is the end all. (Revelation 21) That is what you must pursue with absolute abandonment. That is what must fuel your set a 3 am! That is your fuel for staying up for 36 hours straight: to get a glimpse into the eternal throne room of the Omnipotent, Uncreated, King of the Universe and to be overwhelmed by His inhabitation of you!
The time is short, and His final inhabitation is coming! So “burn” like you’ve never “burned” before. Offer yourself to him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), not confined to any setting, but “burning” everywhere. From late night shift at the Burn, to the late night shift on the assembly line, let Him inhabit you. He is no more pleased with one than the other! From traveling the world to minister to poor, to traveling down the street to bring a meal to a neighbor, let Him inhabit you. He is no more pleased with one than the other, for it is only living sacrifices that please Him! God was just a pleased with David’s worship in the field as He was with David’s worship in the palace.
I believe that within this year, many of our Burn cities will get buildings donated to them. Some may even go 24-7-365! I know its possible here in the Twin Cities. But let us remember, that when we say “He wants this more than we do,” that what He wants isn’t a building of stone or brick, but a people that He can have companionship with.

Mt. Zion, Jerusalem, Israel l 2:17am l 06.13.08
And here we are again..burning and gazing on Mount Zion. There is nothing like it in the entire world. Its the spiritual and governmental headquarters of humanity. Its the very place where “He dwells” according to hundreds of scriptures throughout the Word. And like we laughed about yesterday…He’s not having an identity crisis because theres a little golden mosque on it either! My soul is riveted to core once again and I cannot possibly sleep. The well of emotion, excitement, anticipation, and awe is deep and true inside my heart. I’m dazed right now while typing this because the heavenly sounds are rolling off this the lips and fingers of this young girl from East Texas who is being consumed with a new facet of God’s face. You can only see this side of Him by coming and experiencing this in His land of Israel. Its not anywhere close to hype or manipulation…its an overwhelming rush of His Presence that has been in this place all day and night as we’ve come to consecrate ourselves through fasting, blazing, and gazing. I’ve said it so many times before…Jerusalem has the most intense atmosphere out of any nation in the world…but God is SO NEAR!! The very moment you give him a mere crack of space with worship….He takes full advantage and invades so fast it takes your breath away.
Our team is a literal fulfillment of the many prophecy’s that God drawing the nations back to this place to worship. We come with 17 worshipping and weeping warriors from four nations around the world. Tonight as I sang out Isaiah 62:6…this word was confirmed over us.
“I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of all the earth”
That sums this whole deal up. We came not for a “holy land tour” or fun summer mission trip to entertain Americans (We have enough of those don’t we?). We came to take our post as watchmen. We came to weep and repent for a broken and disillusioned people. We came to pray and worship until the hard heart of every Jew and Arab is softened to Yeshua. We came to contend for the fulfillment of everything promised over this city and nation.
We came for Zion’s sake.
“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.”
Isaiah 62: 1
Please continue to pray for us as we head into 10 days of full on ministry, burning, and contending from one end of the nation to the other. We need supernatural strength and energy to fulfill what we are here for.
more to come!
Join a Burn Missions Experience! Theres still time this year to go to Indonesia, Turkey, Uganda and more!

06.01.08 l Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, Israel
LET THE INCENSE RISE
It feels completely surreal. I have pinched myself many times in the past three days. We are here on THE Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. I say THE Mount of Olives because its THE MOUNT where very feet of Jesus will touch when He returns again to the earth. Its VERY FIRST place where His glory will be seen by every nation, tribe, and tongue. The mount will split in two and He will enter through the Eastern Gate of the holy city (Zech 14:4) We are on this mountain and we can see the eastern gate as we worship. This is without a doubt the most contended for piece of land in the entire earth. Every power and principality of darkness knows their end is coming when the feet of the ONE touch down. Every angel in Heaven eagerly awaits this moment where the Son is revealed to the nations and justice and righteousness prevail. The earth itself groans and cries out for this. We all long for it in the deepest part of our being. It all starts with the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Its the beginning of the end.
We can feel the weight of this as we enter into His Presence. Mere words cannot reveal the heaviness in the air. You would not even believe the struggle its been and the pain endured to see this ten days of worship during Pentecost happen on this spot (fulfillmentfestival.com). Satan himself knows that God is glorified through the worship of God’s people and his grip has been firm to keep that far from this place UNTIL that day. City and government officials, the local police, security guards, the arab neighbors and many more people have worked hard to not let this sound be released from this place. Men have gone back on their word, corruption has been all too common, and local arabs even tried to burn down this massive tent we are worshipping in on the first night!! Every single simple thing has been a ton of work to say the least! (most people in Jerusalem say this is common). But yet..in the midst of all the warfare, confusion, strife, and drama…GOD IS ACCESSIBLE. He is near!!! I don’t know any other way to say this…HE IS LONGING TO BE REVEALED in this place! The moment we play a chord and cry out to Him with passion and purity….HE COMES!!
Tonight it was over the top! We got into a few grooves where I could almost see his cloud moving through the tent. The worship went deep and pure. I love how you cannot bring any “starter” songs or poppy churchy stuff here. That doesn’t work…you gotta go for the juggler!!! You start out at 110% and don’t let up until the end..its my kind of style! People said tonight that they could literally smell Gods presence with us. Several said it smelled like roses and hyssop mixed together when we sang out “Let is rise…let the incense rise.” As the sun set down over Mount Zion (The temple mount) during the first part of my set…I began to sing the verse from Psalm and Malachi “from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets you will be praised through all the earth.” It suddenly came full circle in my mind that this place I was singing this from is where the sun is going to RISE FOR ETERNITY!! Something has shifted again in my heart from our times of worship together on the mount. We have joined with a multitude of people from all over the globe coming to see a place where He can dwell established on this ground. I’m not even sure what has shifted in me…but I feel it in the deepest part of my soul. Every time I come here…I get messed up and this time is by far the worst!
Tomorrow I leave but the worship does not. Please keep this crew in your prayers as bands from all over the world are coming in to release their sounds of love and worship to the Father through June 10th!! I believe its just going to get thicker and thicker as the nights move on. Who knows…maybe it will usher in move of His Spirit back to this city. The only thing that can change the hard hearts of this land is His Presence released through true worship. What we have been doing is the answer. Its only answer and the hope for the nation.
I’m heading to Santa Cruz, CA for a few days of BURNING with some good friends, then to the East Coast for my sisters wedding, and back again to this glorious land with the BURN ISRAEL team!!!
POUR IT OUT LORD!!!
