I am in love with this country - period.

We haven’t even been on the ground in mainland China 48 hours yet…and we have already imparted our heart for BURN 24-7 with the apostolic pastors, worship leaders, and musicians (in a “short” 6 hour service yesterday), hung out and loved on precious children at a local orphanage, and are now 9 hours into our first of four BURN launches across the nation!! We dont play games on these trips people!! Time is short and the kingdom is at hand here!! We launched 24 hours of nonstop, passionate, vertical worship and prayer with the thriving underground church here in a small room tucked away on the 5th floor (grace!!) of a massive business skyscraper in the downtown of the fastest growing city in all of China!! There couldnt be a more strategic city to ignite this blaze in and I’ve never met a people more ready and hungry for it.

Shenzen is the “southern gate” of China and the largest port in the nation (3rd largest in the world!). Anything received and welcomed here quickly spreads throughout the entire country. So shall it be with this fire God is releasing as I’m typing now! The average age of the city population is under 30 years old and they are yearning for truth and life in the midst of the “economic boom” that has radically shifted the lives of evert Chinese citizen. I heard the prophetic declaration spoken from Hanna when we arrived two days ago: “these people are dry kindling…they are so ready for this!” She was so right and that statement has never been more true. I’ve never met people so tender towards the Presence of God. They just melt when He enters the room. They know their Jesus and He is keen to come visit them whenever they ask. They are a weeping, warring, waiting, hungry people and what I’ve learned from them in this short time has already changed my life!

This entire idea of Davidic night and day worship is a brand new concept in this nation. As we shared and taught on this yesterday with pastors and leaders around the city, they ate up every word we spoke and every prayer we prayed. They asked many questions and agreed that God’s Presence is the only hope to reach over 1 billion lost souls across the nation. Three things about what we’ve experienced have blasted me already.

1) As we strategized on how to plan this first of many BURNS…they suggested that we take 3 hour sets each because the typical 2 hours is just too short!! This is the first time in all my travels in planting the BURN furnaces across the world that I’ve ever heard this. We just couldnt deny them…so 3 hours it was!

2) I quickly realized that you don’t “lead” worship with the Chinese…there is no such thing. They blaze with all their heart towards Jesus and you just try to keep up with them!! They could easily do without you..that is a powerful revelation for the nations.

3) The pure simplicity of worship has hit me so hard tonight. I really struggled going into this BURN because they insisted that our team take the first  shifts while hundreds of eager NON-ENGLISH speaking Chinese were ready to worship with us. I tried to explain that it would be hard for them to understand and engage because I dont know any Mandarin or any of their songs. They taught me how to say “Jesus Come” and I knew that Hallelujah was pronounced the same (as in all languages). So that was enough to fill 3 hours of worship. THEY NEVER GOT TIRED OF SAYING THOSE SIMPLE WORDS…AND I REALIZED THAT I NEVER GOT TIRED EITHER!!

Maybe we make things too complicated in the West with our many crafty words. Maybe “Come Jesus” and “Hallelujah” is enough. It sure works over here in the fastest growing church in all of recording history.

Just some thoughts and revelations…We’re all getting blasted over here!! I’ve found myself just laying prostrate asking God for the same passion, zeal and fervor that drives them to weep, wail, groan, dance, and sing at the top of their lungs to their Father!!

Its beautiful, moving, and BURNING hot right now! Thanks for praying!

1.4 billion souls and over 20% of the total world population is at stake.

Its been one wild insane beautiful week leading up to our BURN CHINA team departure today from SFO. My week actually started out in the Bay Area pouring into the move stirring in hungry hearts off Market Street in downtown San Francisco. What is so great about this season we are living in marked by favor and unusual “nearness” to the Presence of God is that He is no respecter of persons, cities, or nations!! God doesn’t love China more than He loves America or Lakeland more than San Francisco!!!! Isn’t that beautiful! His ways are not our ways nor His thoughts our thoughts (Is. 55:8)! God is simply showing up wherever people are getting on their face, getting over themselves, and realizing life is worthless and the world is hopeless without a real demonstration of His power and Kingdom manifested on earth. So last Sunday night we went for it and God showed up like He’s been doing every night for well over a month with this tribe of passionate pursuers in Northern CA! We felt the wave of the Lord come with true repentance, authentic joy, and divine healings!

His power became stronger and stronger as the days of the week moved forward. We journeyed to Tyler on Wednesday for a night of consecration and worship with tons of ravenous youth kids contending for fire to be released all over East Texas.  It was by far the most passionate crew I’ve ever been with out there…an army is coming forth that will break off religion in that region! We followed this up the next night with powerful Burn Preview meeting in DFW and an open air tent “revival style” gathering in the Texas countryside the night after that!   I’m beginning to witness people flocking to any place where they feel God might show up…they are coming out of the woodwork…and He is meeting us!

In preparation for China…I’ve been watching some footage from the underground church and its completely wrecking me forever!  Witnessing hundreds of Chinese believers packed together in an underground cave for their daily routine prayer meeting at 430am and they are weeping, laying prostrate, groaning and crying out in sincere devotion and desperation will mess you up! And this is NORMAL for them!!  The passion far eclipses anything I’ve ever experienced before…it moves me to tears and leaves me aching for more.  Not that anything could prepare me for what we are about to encounter…but I have new levels of desire stirring my heart for His Kingdom to be revealed to mankind. I know its all been building for what we are about to be apart of.

Let me quickly clarify a few things. We are NOT going to China as pompous and arrogant westerners feeling they “need” anything we have to give. We are broken and spilled out vessels going to serve, learn, grow, worship, and pray. We all realize we just need MORE of Gods Presence poured out on the nation and that is what binds us together.  Some of the most incredible doors imaginable have flung wide open for us on this trip! I cant go into too much detail, but we’ll be working solely with the thriving underground church as we journey from Hong Kong to Beijing and everywhere in between teaching, releasing, imparting, and burning night and day with the most passionate lovers on the planet. I’m personally praying to receive the mighty and real impartation of HUNGER on levels I know not of. I’m sooo ready for it and I know I need it more now than ever before!!

The eyes of the world are on China in this hour as they host the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and welcome the nations of the world within the communist borders. China is taking center stage and demanding the attention of the world. We believe with the underground church that “her light has come!” (Is. 60:1) God has positioned this whole deal from the beginning of the foundations of the earth and has set it all up. HE OWNS THE STAGE OF HISTORY IN THIS HOUR AND NO ONE (government, leader, principality) WILL TAKE IT FROM HIM! To the outside world, China is marked by a booming economy and quickly emerging as the new world super power crushing anyone that stands in her way. To the Chinese believers, the nation is corrupt, godless, plagued by famine, tribal wars, earthquakes, drought, and in desperate need of another sovereign move of God.

So here we are again…at a true moment of desperation on behalf of a nation in crisis. If He doesnt show up, reveal himself, and pour out His presence - the Nation and its 1.4 billion souls have no hope. The show is set and the OVER 20% OF THE WORLDS POPULATION LIVING IN HER BORDERS IS WHAT IS AT STAKE!! Pray for us as we journey on the next two weeks following the voice of the Spirit and planting sustainable furnaces of vertical worship and prayer among the largest nation in the world. WE NEED YOU TO RISE UP AND ENGAGE HEAVEN WITH US!!

Igniting 4 cities in 14 Days to Change a Nation!

1.32 billion souls. One government party desperate for control. One God desperate for His Bride. In a nation yielded to the spiritual forces of darkness, the body of Christ suffers greatly and She is asking for our help.

On 08.08.08, the Olympic games begin in Beijing. But during this season, the Father has purposed to release His own New Beginning in China. There are seven notes in an octave. The eight begins a new octave, and we know that there is a new sound that God is releasing in China from within His people, a new song for a new season of harvest!

Although Chinese law states it supports freedom of religion, Christians there know this is far from reality. Those refusing to register with the government church are forced to meet “underground” in people’s homes or small facilities.
There is as cry coming from the church in China – teach us about worship! We are going with this purpose. We will be gathering house churches to train, equip, encourage, serve, support and WORSHIP. We are going as sons and daughters of encouragement. We are going to impart the heart of the Burn so that the DNA of the Burn can further launch the Chinese church into their Kingdom purpose.
Please pray for us during the next 3 weeks. Pray for us to walk in supernatural wisdom, protection, anointing, and guidance. Prayer that great and effective doors would be opened to us!

An estimated 150 million have come to Christ in the last several decades! However, more than a billion souls in China alone have yet to hear the gospel. Our partnering with them is ultimately a part of fulfilling the Matthew 24:14 prophecy of Jesus: “This gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in every nation (ethnos) as a witness, and then the end shall

come”.

God will give us the treasures [souls] of darkness [communist China] and riches [souls] from secret places [underground church]. (Is 45:1-3)

There is a strong sense that as the Lord sends us into this nation, He is allowing us to leave an impact that will have multiplying, eternal effects, just as a rock thrown into still water sends ripples far and wide. God said to Abraham, “In blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply you”. We are being sent in the power of that promise, that what happens on this journey will go far beyond us!

What began as a “normal” worship conference ended with the commissioning of an army of rabid young psalmists, musicians, and worshippers to cultivate and raise up places for Jesus to lay His head in their cities, nations, and lives. This great exchange shows the season and the times we are in. Who wants a “typical” or even just a “good” charismatic conference anymore anyway?? One word = LAME.

My expectations are so high now every time we gather together to seek His face that I’m really disappointed if I leave not seeing a different side of HIm than I’ve seen before!! Like Moses, my dream is to talk to God “face to face” (Ex. 33:11) as a man would his friend. In order to not literally die while this happens and ascend the “hill of the Lord” David warns that we must have “clean hands and a pure heart” (Ps. 24:4). While I believe God is granting a generation accessibility to Him on levels we’ve never thought were possible on earth, this always comes with a price. While most of us (me included) have no clue how much we have to sacrifice or our flesh must sizzle to get there…we are all saying the same thing -  “WE WANT YOU NO MATTER THE COST….NO MATTER THE PRICE!!”  LIFE IS JUST LAME WITHOUT YOU AND YOUR PRESENCE!! SO TAKE US THERE THAT WE MAY TRULY LIVE, EXPERIENCE TRUTH, AND DWELL WITH YOU!!

This was the very thing we taught, trained, and imparted to this massive crew of worshippers last weekend in Fort Mill, SC. Its a deeper and truer desire than just honing your skills (which is very important), learning your theory, and getting in the flow as a worship leader…but its the passion, zeal, and hunger for HIS FACE. This is where it all starts. Hunger drove this crew from California, Canada, Honduras, Austria, and even South Korea to this conference!! Talk about desperation! They were the face of a new wave of broken, random, beautiful, and hungry tribe longing for more.

Well, more is exactly what they got!! The last night of the conference, we honored Leonard Jones as a father of this massive global worship movement spreading like fire around the globe. As a cynical, arrogant and prideful generation…we must learn to HONOR those who have come before and labored among us!! The words of Bill Johnson are wise and timely in this season: “You cannot receive from what you don’t honor.” This simple act released something electric in the atmosphere and as John Mark and I released this Davidic worshipping mandate to BURN BRIGHT until the return of Jesus…the fire began to blaze in that room! SInce the conference was called “THE FURNACE” - I guess we got what we asked for! Arrows of passion and zeal were shot into the hearts of those in the room and people were so overcome with the fire of God that they could no longer stand. We thought we would end with releasing our sound of love and affection to the Father…so we lifted our voices together as one united instrument of praise. From that point forward, the sound didn’t stop until 7am the next morning!! They took the words to rebuild the tabernacle of David literal and they burned all night long!!  I could only make it until 2am before I was wiped…but they kept going and going and burning and burning!!

I’m beginning to realize that once this dream is caught…people don’t want to stop. Why should we stop them?! I say BURN ON BABY!! The widespread revelation God is sharing with His bride is the same thing He spoke to Mike Bickle in Cairo, Egypt many years ago: I’m going to change the face of the church in one generation.” I got news for you…HE IS GOING TO USE US TO DO IT!

EVERYONE OUT THERE - DON’T STOP BURNING UNTIL HE RETURNS…IN YOUR CAR, YOUR HOME, YOUR CHURCH, AND IN THE FURACE!! NEVER LET THE FIRE DIE!!

These are thoughts from a recent response to some questions that were posed about the Burn and its purpose, and some good points to remember why we do what we do, and why it looks the way that it does.

“I think if I had to narrow the mission and vision down to simple statements they would look like this:

Mission: “To connect, inform, and train people dedicated to worship and prayer for ministry until the return of the Lord.”

Vision: “The vision is a unified body seeking the Presence of God - through worship.”

I feel like we see an example of this described in Luke 2, when the angels proclaim the will of God in the earth, that Christ has come to/for all men, and through Christ peace and goodwill to all men. I feel like UNITY is what my life and personality were engineered for, and I have been working and praying very hard for opportunities to do more things in this arena.

I feel like the Burn is something that will continue to develop into something that is more corporate, but the goal in it’s present stage is not to create a corporate worship environment, but to allow people room to worship and pray out of their heart without time constraints, or limitations that can be placed by working to guide an audience or congregation into that secret place with the Lord. This doesn’t mean that there is no room for corporate prayer or worship or prayer.

In my opinion, it feels as though the corporate elements of unity also form around the perimeter of the Burn, in relationships that are being developed by business leaders, pastors, intercessors, ministry leaders and many other forms of influence in this city in particular. I have watched a network begin to form and see relationships develop, house church networks link up with traditional church, business link up with ministry etc. It is my heart that these sorts of endeavors will form themselves around a vertical channel that is dedicated to worship of JESUS, the King, and the Father, for the good things they have done. We work hard to be His hands and feet, and we find ourselves gaining a new revelation of love, grace, mercy, faith, self-control, kindness, and sort of good fruit, and subsequently our hearts respond to this revelation and we have to worship. We cannot worship without this revelation, and that is why we come to an environment where there are no guidelines for what we do, but parameters, rather, that I feel can provoke us to make our sound and dance our dance that is unique to our person, taking our hearts and minds and souls out of the box so that he can see the real us, and he can see our heart for worship - which goes beyond songs so many times.

The Burn is such an interesting thing. For as much time and energy that I have put into this for the past four years, I want to hope that it is turning into something that I can wrap my mind around, unfortunately, I don’t think that is going to happen! We have expanded to over 75 cities nationwide with this in the last two years. The Burn’s purpose is to allow/provoke us to seek His presence on His terms. There are actually times at the Burn when it does veer towards a corporate worship set, or corporate prayer set. I have seen this happen many times. However, we want to honor the Lord, as this is our 100% vertical channel, worship.

Join Us in July at Tororo High Hall, for 24 hours of worship, intercession, prophesy, and seeking His Face. We will meet on the 18th of July at 5pm for pre- burn prayer and kick off at 6pm for 24 hours straight. We are seeking God because of Who He is and we are desperate for Him. If you need God, then please come. All who are hungry for Him will find Him.

Tororo High Hall is located in the Hindu Temple compound on Nagongera Rd. No transport will be provided, but small snacks will be available. The purpose is to seek God. There will be no preaching or teaching. We are just coming together for 24 hours straight to pray, call on God, worship Him and see Him come and transform Uganda for the Glory of God. Come and be a part of it!

July is here. The birth month of the United States of America, the beginning of the 232^nd year of its life and a new season for the Burn Tulsa.

This being the birth month of the United States, it seems appropriate to recall some of the history of this nation. Conceived in 1630 and called ‘the shining city on a hill’ birthed in 1776 by the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a signing inspired by the cry ‘God has given America to be free!’ The freedom that God has given this nation has allowed a platform to be built from which the gospel is being preached like never before. The freedom in this land has enabled some of the greatest inventions which are used to bring the gospel to the farthest parts of the earth. Electricity was discovered here, the telephone invented, the Wright brothers flew, all because we have been allowed to dream in this nation and see our dreams fulfilled.

Some say that freedom is never one generation away from being lost. God has a plan for this nation, and it will come to pass. We are the ones who are bringing it to pass! We aren’t the only ones, but we do have a part to play, a song to sing, a stone to place in the house of God which will remain forever. What will be said of us 100 years from now, 1000 years from now? Will we look back on our lives we lived today with regret, or will we along with the thousands of lives we touched look on these days and say the darkness kept passing away and the true light continued shining as God crushed Satan under OUR feet. This is the Enoch generation, the generation that walks with God. We will fulfill our call!

Welcome to the BURN 24-7 July Newsletter!!

We are living in the most exciting, powerful and strategic time in history! Never before has the world experienced so much hunger for the face of God!! Entire nations, tribes, and tongues are longing for just one gaze of Him; one taste of His sweet presence. Everything in the body of Christ is shifting in one generation and we are stuck right in the middle of it!! We need to remind ourselves of this to beak lethargy and have faith to believe for what God longs to do in our nations, cities, and homes! That’s why we BURN night and day before the Lord and why YOU need to come get toasted with us!! This reminds us of who we are and who HE is!

Many leaders across the body of Christ have asked me in the past few months what I think God is doing with the outpourings in Lakeland, Morningstar and even in Burn cities around the world. Is this real? Is it God? Will it last? My answer has always been the same since I’ve experienced this and my life is now marked. God is stirring up zeal for His name and His face. He is awakening people to their sad state of godlessness and apathy and exposing the deep hunger in their heart for MORE.

Just this last weekend, Kate and I were at packed out prophetic conference in Knoxville, TN and I was leading worship with Bob Jones, Ryan Wyatt, Shawn Bolz and many others. As we worshiped the last night, I began to cry out and sing “The signs and wonders are great, but we just want your face…WE JUST WANT YOUR FACE!!” The entire place erupted and there was a level of Gods glory ushered in that I’ve seldom experienced before. Heaven was meeting hunger and people were getting delivered, healed, refreshed, and ignited with fresh zeal!! It all came out of seeking HIM and nothing else!

I want to encourage every person reading this update to seek the face of God like never before in this season that “you may never be lacking in zeal” (Rom 12:11). He is VERY NEAR right now and is meeting hungry souls all over the world! Come BURN with us in your cities!! Please take time to read all God doing with the BURN MOVEMENT across the globe! Burn Turkey Update:

As God’s Bride has gathered herself together to fast, pray, and contend for The Presence in Turkey, He is shining His face upon this land and His kingdom is being advanced tremendously. Currently, four of the five largest cities in Turkey are coming together for BURN gatherings monthly. In each city, these BURNs have gathered the various churches in city-wide unity, creating a sweet smelling aroma to God.

Burn Uganda Update:

We are so excited to be back in Uganda. God is moving and we are seeing a hunger for a move of God in our area like never before.  In two weeks we will be holding our first Burn since we have been back. The pastors are excited and have been asking when, where and how. One Pastor reported to us, that his hunger  to burn recently caused him to climb the Rock (we have a huge Devil’s Mountain type rock in the middle of town) and burn for a whole day. He said and I quote “ I just had to burn for Jesus. So I cried out to Him and He came.” So in two weeks,  we are meeting in the Hindu temple fellowship hall again and seeking Heaven for 24 hours straight.

Burn Indonesia Update:

For the past month I have been watching God take this team to another level. We have been through some rough stuff, but I can see His hand leading us with each day. These past couple of weeks have truly been some of the best times we have had yet. I have been pleasantly surprised with the passion that has been coming out of each of us. Living with these beautiful Indonesians has already been such a positive and educational experience.

Burn Israel:Sean has left me with the most difficult task of this trip…to write a report within a few paragraphs and not a novel.  How does one squeeze 15 days of one of the most revelatory, historical, monumental, life changing trips to Israel into a short “blaze” recap?  Allow me to try…

I truly don’t know where to begin…

yes we saw all the historical biblical sites,
yes we Burned in Jerusalem flipping the spirit realm upside down,
yes we went into the West Bank city of Hebron, where the Father’s of the Faith are buried and by the Spirit of God we were there on Father’s day,
yes we went into refugee camps to cry out and bring the presence,
yes we went into Jericho, the oldest city in the world,
yes our prayers broke through for a particular ministry to get new buildings (one in Jericho, and 2 in Jerusalem,)
yes we worshipped where the original tabernacle of David stood, in the middle of a Muslim neighborhood…
yes we ate more falafel, schwarma, and hummus that we thought possible,

I could go on and on and on and share all of the wonderful things we did, what we saw, and how effective our worship and intercession was, however God did something so special with our team that I think reflects what the Burn is truly about.

The Love of Christ:
Of course the Burn is vertical worship for hours on end ushering in the presence God to change territories and nations, but I want to share another aspect that I think sometimes gets overlooked.  The Burn is about relationships, love, and family.  The Burn is about, tearing down the walls of religion, denominations, agendas, and the self centered culture we live in.  As we begin to minister vertically to the Father, He begins to do something horizontally in the earth, but specifically within the hearts of His people.  Ravenous radical worship not only affects the Heart of the Father, but it tears down all of the facades and fills all of the wounds within the hearts of His people.  There is no greater bond than to have His presence in our midst.  One of our team members, Paul Mozley, released the anthem for the trip during our first Burn session overlooking Mt. Zion that truly expresses this reality, “Now is the time to break down the walls that divide”.  Only the Love of Christ can do this, and this He did to our team.

This bond of unity and love was personified not only within our team, but at the culmination of the Burn on Mt. Carmel.  The presence of God drew ministries throughout Israel together that had never met before!  You would think that all the Christians would know one another and work together in a country the size of New Jersey, but this has not been the case in a county where literal walls streak across the horizon and walls of religion, denominations, and fear permeate the spiritual realms.  The Burn lifts up Christ so that all men are drawn unto Him and His presence tears down the walls.  We had Messianic Jews, Christian Arabs, Americans, Canadians, Russians, Norwegians, just to name a few all worshipping together in spirit and truth!

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;  I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.(John 17:22-23)

“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

Jesus is the perfect bond of unity!

Issachar Anointing:
Another key blessing from coming to Israel is connecting to our roots and gaining a prophetic perspective of the times that we live in so that we are not ignorant.

As most of you know, (I Chron 12:32) “Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do”.  This is a vital part of Burn Israel, to understand the times in which we live and gain revelation of what to do.  We must not forget that the single greatest prophetic fulfillment of this generation is the return of the Jewish people to Israel. (See Isaiah 11:11, Ezekiel 36:24) This in itself should stir your faith to know that first of all, the Lord is faithful and also that the end of time is near.  This is all the more reason to go to Israel and see for your self what the Lord has done in a generation.  I truly believe that it is vitally important for every Christian to visit the Holy Land at least once in their lives.  It will open the Word to you in a new way, wreck your heart for the Jews and Arabs, and give you a real sense of the urgency of this hour in which we live.  The time is short…seek the Lord and go forth into your destinies!  Ps 115:16, “The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men.”  Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make a difference because the Lord says you can!
