The Kingdom of Heaven at the RNC
Amidst the whirlwind of competing agendas among republicans and democrats, anarchists and peaceful protestors, atheists and angry “christians” (who felt that God really needed them to defend Him from homosexuals and sinners), there was the disarming sound of living waters.
The streets of St. Paul looked almost more like the streets of Bagdad outside the Republican National Convention. Rumors of terrorist and anarchist plots to disrupt the convention had the entire downtown area swarmed with swat teams, police, and the national guard. It was in the middle of all this that ministries from all over the Twin Cities united for what was called Operation Living Water.
Christ-followers from all over the area united for non-stop prayer and worship at a church directly across from the state capitol for 4 consecutive days during the convention. While worship and intercession took place there, bands of believers took to the streets with guitars, djembes, and coolers with hundreds of free bottles of water to distribute to anyone who was thirsty.
The water was put to good use on day one when swat teams unleashed tear gas on crowds of anarchists and protestors. One of our groups found themselves in the middle of a stampede of anarchists and protestors that were fleeing the barrage of tear gas and were able to minister real peace by washing the eyes of injured anarchists.
As I hit the streets on the final day of the convention to lead worship in the streets, I was amazed by the appreciation we received from police and anarchists a like. Crowds and cameras would flock to the music attempting to perhaps get a glimpse into what we were protesting and what our agenda could be, but found something beyond another worldly agenda of control…they found a sound of love without agenda. Many were seriously taken aback by someone simply offering them a bottle of cold water. Real kindness disarms people. Some were disarmed to tears as the kindness of a cup of cold water broke past their walls and defenses, and the presence of God was allowed to seep into the broken places of their heart through worship.
Though it was chaotic, it was the perfect atmosphere for the Prince of Peace to work. And in the midst of all this tension between the kingdoms of this world, those that were truly searching for truth saw something in the Kingdom of Heaven which gives them hope.

Operation Living Water at the Republican National Convention
The entire world is focused on who will be the next leaders of the United States because of
the impact on the global economy and political climate. We also know that there is a great
spiritual battle which has already begun over the direction of the world and our nation. We
who put our hope in Jesus Christ do not put our hope in national politics or leaders but we
also understand that the spiritual climate of our nation is impacted by the spiritual condition
of those in authority over us.
This war is far beyond our ability as individual believers or even local congregations to deal
with. The only way we can effectively impact this battle is to get involved with what the
Lord is doing and agree with Him in prayer and action.
It is on this foundation that the Lord is mobilizing believers across the Twin Cities, the State
of Minnesota, the nation and even the world to be part of His work through the upcoming
Democratic and Republican National Conventions. The Republican National Convention
(the “RNC”) is scheduled to be held in St. Paul on September 1st through the 4th.
Organizers are expecting nearly 50,000 candidates, delegates, media and visitors for the
convention and an additional 50,000 protestors who will all descend on the Twin Cities in
the next month.
These are the ways that you can be involved is establishing the Kingdom of God during this
event of global significance.
STATEWIDE STRATEGIC PRAYER. The first level is a strategic state-wide 24/7
prayer covering that is going to start on Sunday, August 31st at 6p and run through Friday,
September 5th at 6p. Individual believers and congregations are encouraged to sign up for
state-wide prayer times and be part of this massive prayer covering by contacting Karen
Krueger at karenk@calltothewall.org or by phone at 763.689.4107.
RNC PRAYER FURNACE AT THE CAPITAL. The second level of prayer is a 24/7
prayer furnace that is going to burn from Monday, September 1st at 12a to Thursday,
September 4th at 11:59a. We are calling for believers to sign up for a time during those four
(4) days to worship and pray for God’s intervention during all aspects of the RNC. The
prayer furnace will be located at Berean Church of God in Christ (near the State Capital
and connected to a Sears parking lot) which is located at 441 Rice Street, St. Paul, MN
55101. Please contact Ana Hersma at ana@businessblessings.org or by phone at
816.786.6703.
OTHER PRAYER RESOURCES. You can also download the 40-day prayer guide for
the RNC at www.prayertransformation.com as well as keep up to date on the latest
information regarding the city-wide Kingdom battle plan for the RNC.
SERVE. There are also several ways you can serve by directly bringing the Kingdom of
God to those who are visiting our Twin Cities. You can serve on the operations team or an
outreach team on any day of the RNC (September 1st-4th). There will be three (3) shifts a
day – 10a to 2p, 2p to 6p and 6p to 10p. If you are interested in being part of either of
these teams please contact Luke Klevgaard at luke@trinityworks.org or call 651.353.9055.
GIVE. We have a financial need to pay for the anticipated 10,000 to 50,000 bottles of
water we are going to give away over these four (4) days. If you have the ability and
willingness to give to help cover these costs please contact Steven Uggen at 763.717.2047
or email steven@trinityworks.org or just make checks payable to Trinity Works and mail to
7325 Pleasant View Drive, Mounds View, MN 55112.

TESTIMONY FROM THE TWIN CITIES (from Saturday night)
so its 2:30 am, and i should be fast asleep…but I’m all Feucht-style fired up!! so pass this a long to every body on the email list. why?
Because the Holy Spirit broke through in POWER tonight at our city-wide, united prayer effort between Burn Twin Cities, Twin Cities House of Prayer and Minnesota House of Prayer. For the last couple months we have been gathering every Saturday night from 7:30-Midnight (or later) at the same strategic location that the Lord has opened up for us. Every week we have truly burrowed ourselves deeper and deeper into the heart of God and the great mysteries of His love for us, but this week He broke through with SIGNS AND WONDERS…..and most importantly SALVATIONS!!! So this guys comes in tonight who I’ve never seen before, and as I’m leading worship I’m looking back at the corner of the room and watching as this guy is just balling his eyes out before the Lord, and with the eyes of my Spirit I can see something all over Him. So I’m wondering, “Lord, what kind of work are you doing with him?” So towards the end of our set we hit this crazy pocket of “Jesus joy” and we had like 60 or 70 people running round the room dancing and singing like children, then miraculous stuff starts happening and people start getting physically healed of stuff like broken limbs and blood disorders (to name a couple! i’ll give you more details as they come in)! In the midst of this I’m still seeing this guy in the back get rocked in the spirit, I mean the annointing was jumping off him like bolts of lightning. I see him come up and talk to one the guys on the leadership team and ask he could share a miracle that just happened to him. So while balling his eyes out he comes up on stage and shares in broken English how he recently moved here from Africa (called a house of prayer for all nations, right?) and had no idea why he came to the meeting tonight and had no clue what it was about. In fact, HE WASN’T EVEN SAVED (when he walked in…), but he cried out weeping, “I MET JESUS TONIGHT! I MET JESUS TONIGHT!” and then crumbles face toward the floor prophesying and testifying.Nobody prayed with him or led him down “Romans Road”, God just met him right where he was standing! This guy get saved, set free, filled with the Holy Spirit and literally no one can take the credit for any of it except for Jesus. Afterwards, the man found himself surrounded by the loving embrace of several of the young men present who felt led to stand with him during the most important moment of his life. It was absolutely beautiful…it was like the true potential of the Church in action! paul anleitner

“Unity in prayer unlike anything I’ve experienced…”
No commentsThat is what my dear friend MaryLynn Christopher said last night as we ended our 4th “Prayer Furnace” gathering. MaryLynn has been the head of Twin Cities House of Prayer for the last 8 years now, and has been diligently carrying the vision of 24-7 worship and prayer. Several months ago a few of us involved with the some of many 24-7 houses of prayer in the Twin Cities got together and felt like the Lord was telling us to “unite the clans” (stealing a line from Braveheart!!) So together, we set out to embark on a new journey together. The strategy for this season was consistency and intensity.Every Saturday night from 7:30pm ’til Midnight (or later as was the case last night!) we would gather at the same location (which so happens to be a Lutheran church that has been a significant hub for revival movements in the last decade!) and contend for a Great Awakening in the Twin Cities. Well, we’ve been going strong for a month now and I can honestly say along with MaryLynn that I have never been a part of anything like this in my life! Every week we’ve had 50-100 intercessors crying out for repentance, intimacy, and revival. The songs of Lord have come gushing out of the worship leaders and musicians like a geyser. Every age group, young and old, has been crying out to the Lord, weaping, dancing, and singing with all their might. It is such an incredible sight to see people in their 70’s, 50’s, 30’s, and 20’s weeping before the Lord at midnight! One of the most amazing things about our gatherings so far is that 75 % of the people in the room are people that I, nor any of the other leaders, have met before! We have no idea where these people are coming from or how they found out! If you live in the Twin Cities area, please come and join us every Saturday night from 7:30-Midnight (come and go as you need) at North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minnesota. Like King David, we are trying to build a place for the Spirit of God to rest…. and He has definitely rested among us in our times together.

Come Burn with us Every Saturday Night!
Every Saturday night from 7:30-12am Burn Twin Cities is uniting together with Twin Cities House of Prayer, Minnesota House of Prayer, and many other ministries from across the state at North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minnesota as we cry out out for a wave of revival, intimacy, and justice to wash over the Twin Cities.
We’ve been going strong for a month now with this concentrated effort, and the momentum that we are gaining in the Spirit is unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of!
Please come out and be a part of the Prayer Furnace every Saturday night from 7:30pm-12am @ North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minnesota.

Learning from History
Being a history teacher, I’ve found myself recently studying the great worship and prayer movements of the past. One of the greats that has stood out to me has been that of the Moravians led by Count Zizendorf in the 1700’s. This “Burn Germany” was lead by a 27 year old radical named Nicholas Zizendorf who’s passionate zeal for Christ helped spark a continual night and day worship and prayer movement that lasted for 100 years!!
I’ve pasted an article at the bottom that talks about this great movement of the Spirit. I strongly encourage you to take the time to read it and pay special attention to several of these components mentioned within.
1. Unity
This movement sparked unprecedented denominational unity amongst the Lutherans, Baptists, Reformed, and the Moravians in Germany. This isn’t just a thing for us pentecostals and charismatics….its for the body of Christ!
2. Small numbers
Originally it was 24 men and 24 women who decided to commit themselves to taking prayer “shifts”. It was these few that sparked something that forever changed human history!
3. The next generation was involved!
Young children were moved by the power of the Spirit to this lifestyle of prayer. The sincerity of the young ones stirred the hearts of the entire community!
4. Missions
Through the prayer furnace in Hernhut, God inspired one of the greatest missions movements in history. In fact, one of the main reasons for the Moravians settling here in the United States in the 18th century was to set up a missions outreach in Georgia to the Native Americans.
5. The Foundations of the Great Awakening
As you will read, these Moravians had a profound influence on John and Charles Wesley who were largely responsible for sparking the Great Awakening in Britain and the U.S. Many historians agree that the Great Awakening led colonists to begin challenging tyranny and injustice, and this paved the way for the American Revolution!
6. Fruit Change
Good trees have good fruit, bad trees have bad fruit. The Moravians were a people that were beginning to be recognized by their “unusual” fruits. As you will read, Wesley even notes how their fruits set them apart from other missionaries he was traveling with!
7. Setting musical trends
Now this one might just be cool to me…but the Moravians became known for their music! Moravians saw no distinction between “sacred” and “secular”. They composed incredible instrumentals and hymns alike. In fact, music scholar Gilbert Chase once said this about the Moravians:
“Artistically, none of the religious minorities that settled in America approached the musical achievement of the Unitas Fratrem, more commonly known as the Moravian Church” (http://www.carolinamusicways.com/history_1753.html)
Here’s a fraction of the article that I’m pasting from a website (http://www.openheaven.com/library/history/zinzendorf.htm)
Please take a minute to read it!! I believe we are on the verge of something even greater than this!
Lets keep burning together!

Director- Burn Twin Cities
“A covenant and a 100 Year Prayer meeting!
At Herrnhut, Zinzendorf visited all the adult members of the deeply divided community. He drew up a covenant calling upon them ‘to seek out and emphasize the points in which they agreed’ rather than stressing their differences.
On 12 May 1727 they all signed an agreement to dedicate their lives, as he dedicated his, to the service of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Moravian revival of 1727 was thus preceded and then sustained by extraordinary praying. A spirit of grace, unity and supplications grew among them. On 16 July the Count poured out his soul in a prayer accompanied with a flood of tears. This prayer produced an extraordinary effect. The whole community began praying as never before. On 22 July many of the community covenanted together on their own accord to meet often to pour out their hearts in prayer and hymns.
On 5 August the Count spent the whole night in prayer with about twelve or fourteen others following a large meeting for prayer at midnight where great emotion prevailed. On Sunday, 10 August, Pastor Rothe, while leading the service at Herrnhut, was overwhelmed by the power of the Lord about noon. He sank down into the dust before God. So did the whole congregation. They continued till midnight in prayer and singing, weeping and praying.
On Wednesday, 13 August 1727, the Holy Spirit was poured out on them all. Their prayers were answered in ways far beyond anyone’s expectations. Many of them decided to set aside certain times for continued earnest prayer. On 26 August, twenty four men and twenty four women covenanted together to continue praying in intervals of one hour each, day and night, each hour allocated by lots to different people. On 27 August, this new regulation began. Others joined the intercessors and the number involved increased to seventy seven. They all carefully observed the hour which had been appointed for them. The intercessors had a weekly meeting where prayer needs were given to them.
The children, also touched powerfully by God, began a similar plan among themselves. Those who heard their infant supplications were deeply moved. The children’s prayers and supplications had a powerful effect on the whole community.
That astonishing prayer meeting beginning in 1727 went on for one hundred years. It was unique. Known as the Hourly Intercession, it involved relays of men and women in prayer without ceasing made to God. That prayer also led to action, especially evangelism. More than one hundred missionaries left that village community in the next twenty five years, all constantly supported in prayer.
The Spirit’s witness
One result of their baptism in the Holy Spirit was a joyful assurance of their pardon and salvation. This made a strong impact on people in many countries, including the Wesleys.
John and Charles Wesley
In 1736 John and Charles Wesley sailed to America as Anglican missionaries. A company of Moravian immigrants were also on the vessel. During a terrible storm they all faced the danger of shipwreck. John Wesley wrote in his journal: At seven I went to the Germans. I had long before observed the great seriousness of their behaviour. Of their humility they had given a continual proof by performing those servile offices for the other passengers which none of the English would undertake; for which they desired and would receive no pay, saying, ‘It was good for their proud hearts,’ and ‘their loving Saviour had done more for them.’ And every day had given them occasion of showing a meekness, which no injury could move. If they were pushed, struck or thrown down, they rose again and went away; but no complaint was found in their mouth. Here was now an opportunity of trying whether they were delivered from the spirit of fear, as well as from that of pride, anger and revenge. In the midst of the Psalm wherewith their service began, the sea broke over, split the mainsail in pieces, covered the ship and poured in between the decks, as if the great deep had already swallowed us up .A terrible screaming began among the English. The Germans calmly sung on. I asked one of them afterwards: ‘Were you not afraid?’ He answered, ‘I thank God, no.’ I asked: ‘But were not your women and children afraid?’ He replied mildly: ‘No, our women and children are not afraid to die’.”
